  • Kalyansree Mahila Samity was founded in 1978 as per The West Bengal Society Registration Act XXVI of 1961to help the women and children, sick, poor, helpless, and indigent persons.

  • Kalyansree Mahila Samity has major activities in women & children welfare.It is working on Integrated Child Development Services(I.C.D.S.), Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG), Kanyashree Programme (KP), SAG-KP Convergence Program, etc. The objectivesof the programs are to improve the nutritional and health status of children in the age-group 0-6 years;to lay the foundation for proper psychological, physical and social development of the child; to reduce the incidence of mortality, morbidity, malnutrition and school dropout; to achieve effective co-ordination of policy and implementation amongst the various departments to promote child development; and to enhance the capability of the mother to look after the normal health and nutritional needs of the child through proper nutrition and health education, to empower the adolescent girls; to raise their voices; to demand their rights;to help adolescent girls; to share their needs and issues; and to work collectively to address various issues so that they can access the services from the different departments and governments
